Humanitarian Home Build 2011
The first Humanitarian Build took place in partnership with the Ontario Home Builders Association and Live Different organization. Volunteers from Canada and the Dominican Republic built 6 homes in an impoverished section of Puerto Plata. This initiative was the catalyst for Builders for Change.
Dove Missions building construction 2014
Partnering with Dove Missions, it was apparent that the original Dove Missions Youth Centre was unsuitable to serve the needs of the community. Builders for Change took on the preliminary construction of building the foundation and first floor of the new Dove Missions Youth Centre.
Dove Missions final construction was completed in 2016
Finishing what was started, Builders for Change volunteers built the second floor and completed the new Dove Missions Youth Centre located in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Humanitarian Home Build 2023
Our second home build took place in November, 2023 in partnership with LiveDifferent organization. More than 50 volunteers from Ontario, Canada, built three homes for deserving families in an impoverished area of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
