Matt Pryce

CHAIRPERSON

Matt is co-owner of Prycon Custom Building and Renovations Inc. who has worked in the Building Industry for over 30 years. He specializes in building custom homes in and around Simcoe County, Ontario. For the past 20 years, Matt has been dedicated to improving the industry through his involvement with the Local and Provincial Home Building Associations. Matt is committed to helping others succeed and involves himself in philanthropy both locally and internationally. He is very active with local associations in the Simcoe County area and has been involved with several building initiatives in the Dominican Republic and in Puerto Rico. Outside of his daily business and his ongoing philanthropy he enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and grandkids.

Phil Kelly

VICE CHAIRPERSON

Phil has a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. He has been a finished goods Consultant in the Residential and Commercial Plumbing Industry since 1985. Phil has represented major American brands in Quebec and Ontario. His focus is on Engineers, Architects, Designers, and Mechanical Contractors. He feels his key to success is listening and supplying the right product for the application. Phil served on the Board of the CHBA (Canadian Homes Builders Association)– Barrie Chapter from 1996-2006. He was a driver in moving the chapter towards charitable projects in order to increase member participation and to serve the community. The “Build for the Cure” campaign was the flag ship project that launched the local chapter into charitable work.

Gail Bazely

Secretary

Gail currently works for Gregor Homes Ltd. as the Office Manager.  Her husband James owns the company and they both work together to manage it.  She has been involved in various charities such as “The Learning Disabilities Association and Living Green.  Gail and James have three children Melissa, David, and Kathleen and was a stay-at-home mom for many years before joining her husband at Gregor Homes.  She has always been involved in the various fundraising and charitable efforts that James and Melissa were involved in. Gail is the Co-founder of Builders for Change and since her daughter Melissa passed away in May of 2021, is proudly carrying on her legacy.   

James Bazely

director

James is owner of Gregor Homes Ltd., operating in the Simcoe County, Ontario area.  He is the Past President of both the Simcoe County Home Builder’s Association and the Ontario Home Builders Association. James loves a challenge especially when it comes to finding creative ways to help others and fund raising to do so. Over the past twenty years, he has been intimately involved in the organization and execution of many unique charitable events including; two – three day house builds with proceeds to Royal Victoria Hospital Regional Cancer Centre and Gilda’s Club, eleven annual ice fishing tournaments on Lake Simcoe with proceeds to various local charities in need of help,  as well as building six houses and a youth development centre in the Dominican Republic and work to rebuild houses in Puerto Rico after the Hurricane Maria. James is married to Gail and are parents to three children, the oldest being Melissa who sadly passed away in 2021. Melissa was a driving force and inspiration in much of the voluntary work that James has been involved in, especially the work in the Dominican Republic. Melissa was the founder of Builders for Change and we do this work not to only celebrate her but carry on her legacy.

Sab Sferrazza

Sab is retired from a 31 year career in management at London Health Science Centre Hospital. During that time he  held various management positions. The last position held was as Director of Customer Support Services. Sab was responsible for 12 non-clinical departments ranging from food services, security and parking to name a few. Parking was an important revenue generator for the hospital.  He was on the national Canadian Parking Association Board of Directors for a five year period representing the hospital sector of the association. He also served a two year term on the hospital Credit Union Board of Directors. Sab looks forward to making a contribution as board member of the Builders For Change organization. 

Donna Cansfield

Donna Cansfield was first elected to the Legislature in October 2003. She became the first female Minister of Transportation of the Province of Ontario, and also served as Minister of Energy and Minister of Natural Resources. Prior to becoming a MPP Donna served Etobicoke Centre as a school trustee for 15 years at the local level, President of the Provincial School Boards’ Association and President of the National School Boards’ Association, and ultimately as the Chair of the Toronto District School Board. Currently Donna serves on a number of not for profit boards in a variety of roles.

Sajida Jiwani

Sajida Jiwani is an accomplished business leader with over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Currently, she holds the positon of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Ontario Home Builders’ Associaton (OHBA), a non-profit organizaton that represents the residental constructon industry in Ontario. Prior to joining OHBA, Ms. Jiwani worked in various roles, including as a Senior Manager at the Atlantic Memory Group (AMG), a leading Information Technology company, where she provided advisory services to clients in information technology and financial services as a management consultant. As COO of OHBA, Ms. Jiwani plays a pivotal role in the organization’s mission to promote excellence and innovation in residential construction in Ontario. Her responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, developing, and implementing operational plans, and promoting for the interests of OHBA’s members at the provincial level. Ms. Jiwani is widely recognized for her leadership skills, strategic thinking, and commitment to diversity and inclusion. She shares her expertise on topics such as finance, workforce development, and industry trends and has run over 14 annual conferences successfully. Outside of work, Ms. Jiwani is an avid chef and enjoys exploring new cultures and cuisines. She also volunteers as a mentor with various organizations that support youth and women’s leadership within her community.
